    USDA has awarded AboutWeb with a new Prime contract to provide web application development and database architecture support. This project will consist of developing a new application architecture that will replace a legacy system. This will also include reworking the database structure to better align with new technology frameworks and will replace outdated and unsupported technologies. 

  • August 28th, 2017

    The National Institute of Standards and Technology awarded additional work under an existing Prime contract. This includes providing additional customized development support. This work will allow us to expand our TouchStone product to better align with our client's needs and continue our history of supporting NIST through TouchStone's flexible architecture.

    AboutWeb was recently engaged to provide enhanced services to a long-time customer within the Treasury Department. This work will expand on the design and development work that the AboutWeb has been providing the Treasury Department for several years. As a HUBZone partner, AboutWeb is also working with this integrator to identify additional opportunities to support this customer in a broader capacity, including Cyber Security and Application Development.

    On April 27th, 2017, Robert Epstein, Chairman of AboutWeb, traveled to Capitol Hill along with other HubZone owners to show support and meet with members of the US House of Representatives Small Business Committee at a hearing on Small Business matters.  Robert had a chance to advocate core issues directly to committee member US Representative Dave Brat (VA).

  • March 6th, 2017

    The National Institute of Standards and Technology has awarded a task award for a secure data connection. Our Technical Lead will be working with NIST staff to develop and implement a secure data connection that meets the encryption standards and security protocols laid out through NIST regulations. The initial instance could then be used for other data connections with similar technology profiles, helping to ensure the data's security across the agency.

    Robert Epstein was selected to participate in an SBA Study to improve the HUBZone Mapping system. The study provides for improved features to the Small Business Administration HUBZone Map. SBA officials expect to roll out the new version in early June of 2017.

    AboutWeb is working closely with the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program at the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) to develop software to manage their assessment program.  AboutWeb released the Criteria Editor as part of a multi-year project for enhancements of their BOSS software.  The Criteria, a tool for understanding and managing organizational performance, are used to assess an organization's performance.  Baldrige Performance Excellence Program has now released it's 2017-2018 Baldrige Excellence Framework.

    AboutWeb deployed a major release of TouchStone to The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) which serves as a third-party to issue accreditations for testing and calibration labs. This new version includes a new portal that allows assessors to update profiles, manage their assessment, upload documents, and track deficiencies. This version streamlines communications and data exchange between all parties and gives NVLAP administrators better insight into and control over the life cycle of the accreditation process.

    AboutWeb Cares is excited to announce our first office in Baltimore City. With this office, AboutWeb Cares will be able to hire new employees and provide a boost of economic empowerment to the local community with our exclusive courses for on-site and remote training. The office plans to open sometime in April 2017.

  • November 8th, 2016

    AboutWeb completed a comprehensive cybersecurity assessment for a large local not-for-profit. The evaluation included inspection and detailed reporting of physical security, on-site digital assets and infrastructure, internal web applications, and 3rd party web applications. The results of the assessment has already helped to greatly increase their organization's security with further security measures planned to be implemented soon.
