About Web helps local food banks

In the midst of the economy downfall and the huge dive in the unemployment rate here at AboutWeb we wanted to give back to the community especially during this holiday season. On December 8, 2009 Each office was given a budget to buy canned foods to take to a homeless shelter in their respective area.

* Manna Food Center (Rockville)

"Manna Food Center, a nonprofit organization, strives to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County through food distribution, education, and advocacy."

* Liberty Family Resource Center (Baltimore)

* United Community Ministries (Virginia)

"Our mission is to assist families and individuals to improve the quality of their lives in a manner that builds their self-reliance and fosters their ability to function at the greatest level of their economic and social capacities."

* The Alternative House (Virginia)

"Provides support to at-risk children, youth and families through counseling, shelter, crisis intervention and neighborhood outreach."

Each office went to Costco and bought surplus of canned foods to take to these centers. Every employee took part in some way.  Here at AboutWeb we understand that giving back is an action that must be done year round and we take that sense of duty very seriously.  Happy Holidays!
