SQL Developer / Data Analyst
Junior to Mid Level
Location: NW, DC - Dupont Circle
Works with the Senior Data Architect, Information Technology Services (ITS) to assist in data migration, data cleansing, data analysis, validation, ad-hoc data load, matching and data development activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strong MS SQL programming skills, and the ability to perform work that is detailed and high quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR TASKS:
List them in their order of importance to the job,
o Assist in data migration from various legacy sources to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
o Create scripts and processes to clean, match, map and load ad-hoc data sets from disparate sources to the destination database.
o Work on various ad-hoc data related tasks across many database environments that are time sensitive.
o Assist in documenting and maintaining data.
o Create complex reports using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
o Serve on project teams to provide data services to existing and new applications (e.g., modify
production data, create and optimize stored procedures/functions/views, etc.).
o Collaborate with the Senior Software Engineers and other key stakeholders to:
? Ensure effective resolution of support requests
? Design and implement changes to database schemas/models of the development, functional test, staging, and production environments
o Develop automated procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL); as well as verification of data from internal and external sources.
o Assist in finding root causes for the data related issues and coming up with solutions to remedy them.
o Assist in database optimization and space management projects.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Ideal candidates MUST have:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other appropriate discipline.
o Minimum of two (2) or more years of hands-on experience with SQL Server (complex joins, stored procedures, views, triggers, jobs, etc.).
o Experienced practitioner in planning and implementing mid-to-large scale ETL solutions.
o Knowledge of data privacy and security industry standards and best practices.
o Excellent oral/written communications, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
o Strong follow-through and initiative to work on issues until they are resolved, along with the
discipline and tenacity to meet deadlines.
o Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012.
o Experience with SSRS.
DESIRED requirements for candidates include:
o Experience with Scribe Workbench a major plus.
o Experience with version control systems, such as Visual SourceSafe.
o Experience in data migration tasks.
