CBP Mid-Level Storage Engineer

Clearance: Current or prior CBP or DHS Clearance Required -  CBP Full Field Investigation (Basically, this is roughly equivalent to DoD SECRET with strong emphasis on healthy financial record)

Description:
The selected candidate will support CBP Storage Engineering and Operations Team. This position requires advanced knowledge of Open Systems operating systems (SOLARIS/AIX/LINUX/WINDOWS/VMware), SAN switch (Brocade), and enterprise storage array subsystems (EMC, Hitachi and NetApp) environments. Strong analytical and process oriented skills are preferred, especially with regards to configuration management and trouble-shooting within a complex enterprise environment. Candidate will be expected to bring enterprise storage management experience and perspective to the organization. Candidate should have knowledge of Storage Resource Management tools ( EMC or HDS tools, Storage Essentiials / SANScreen) technologies and techniques. Demonstrated experience within a distributed server environment of at least 50 servers is ideal.

Requirements:
SAN Brocade (MUST)
-Storage Administration Experience – 5 years in an Enterprise SAN environment with at least 1 of our current vendors (EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, Brocade)
-Good written & oral communication skills a must
-Must be detail oriented, organized and solutions driven
-Ability to provision storage/virtualized storage to systems and applications
-Ability to perform SAN zoning activity related to storage provisioning
-Ensure storage capacities are at the proper level for performance
-Ability to work within a team environment to provide solution(s) for storage requirement(s)
-Fiber Channel Networking
Job Duty 1 with % of time - Administer SAN storage arrays - 35%
Job Duty 2 with % of time – Administer SAN switch (brocade) – 25%
Job Duty 3 with % of time - Production support and troubleshooting 20%
Job Duty 4 with % of time – Administer Enterprise UNIX / Windows Servers - 10%
Job Duty 5 with % of time - Provide documentation to establish baseline and to track all change management activities - 5%
Job Duty 6 with % of time - Batch scripting/Programming 5%

-Ability to work on as needed basis outside normal working hours
-Experience with Oracle ZFS is a plus
-Linux / Unix / Windows Administration related to Storage
-Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
BS/BA degree and 5+ years of IT experience or 10+ years of IT experience
5+ years of Storage Engineering/Administration
