Marketing and Communications Specialist

AboutWeb is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring the overall success of marketing initiatives through effective communications planning and execution, in collaboration with internal partners and external vendors. The incumbent will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to assist and guide the development of various communications pieces, write content and ultimately execute print and electronic materials, website content, social media marketing and other collateral.

  • The successful candidate will typically require a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field of study.
  • 4-6 years of experience creating and executing marketing strategies and writing copy, preferably for a technology or real estate related company.
  • Agency and end-to-end marketing experience helpful.
  • Direct experience in writing and editing content for online and offline channels is required.
  • Must have a high proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Experience with basic web development (HTML, CSS) and familiarity with Drupal is a plus.
  • Must have experience with desktop publishing and graphics/photo editing (Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience with marketing automation systems, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Must have excellent writing skills for various outlets, like social media and e-mail, with a proficiency in writing for today’s reader; content that can be scanned.
  •  Must possess the ability to understand, empathize and tailor communications to different target audiences.
  • Ability to take complex information and create clear, succinct content to a varied and skilled diverse audience is required. 
  •  High degree of ownership and accountability is also required. 
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management.
  • Must be a “team player" who enjoys working closely with others.
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically, and to logically analyze and solve problems is required.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines is needed. 
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. 
  • Attention to detail is crucial. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to monitor and respond to social media conversations is required. 
  • Ability to assist with routing after-hours urgent requests for assistance and/or response via various channels.
  • Must be able to participate in a scheduled pager duty emergency coverage team rotation to monitor and post messaging for system related emergencies after hours and on weekends
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Some travel is required for this position.
