JOB TITLE: Flight Manual Technical Writer
LOCATION: Elizabeth City, NC
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
This position is with our customer, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), specifically the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), who requires a skilled Technical Writer.
The Coast Guard is both a federal law enforcement agency and a military force, and therefore is a faithful protector of the United States in peacetime and war. In times of peace, the Coast Guard operates as part of the Department of Homeland Security, enforcing the nation's laws at sea, protecting the marine environment, guarding the nation's vast coastline and ports, and performing vital life-saving missions. In times of war, or at the direction of the President, the Coast Guard serves as part of the Navy Department, defending the nation against terrorism and foreign threats.
This position will support ongoing requirements of the United States Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina! This position will specifically support Aviation Logistics that enable Coast Guard mission execution, including: Depot Level Maintenance, Engineering, Supply, Procurement, and Information Services.
In this role, you will:
- Develop communications materials for publications, user manuals, training materials, installation guides, etc.
- Develop, write, and edit functional descriptions, system specifications, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
- Provide technical writing support and decipher directions provided on scripted storyboards, specifications, etc.
- Review documents for technical accuracy in accordance with applicable regulations.
