September 1, 2020 (Hanover, MD) – AboutWeb and Penacity will attend this year’s HUBZone Small Business Week, September 8-11, 2020, hosted by the HUBZone Contractors National Council. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will be virtual.
AboutWeb has been a proud participant in the HUBZone program, which was established by the SBA to fuel small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least three percent of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year.
Since AboutWeb became a HUBZone company in 2016, it has been attending this annual event. This will be Penacity’s first year in attendance as an SDVOSB and HUBZone small business.
AboutWeb has been creating opportunities in IT through its AboutWeb Cares program since 2016, providing paid training and educational opportunities in IT to people from federally designated HUBZone areas.
AboutWeb won the Corporate Citizen of the Year award at the 2018 HUBZone Conference for our work with the AboutWeb Cares program.
